I was too tired to make jam last night but, having already prepared the gooseberries, it was a pleasant way to start the day by boiling up a pan of fruit and sugar and taking regular tastings along the way.
A dear Stateside friend ( concerned about our glut of gooseberries) sent a recipe for gooseberry vodka. I might just give it a whirl.

Our decorator has just suggested that you make gooseberry wine.
