Ali came to visit today. She and I had never met before but she was looking to add some Call Ducks to her collection of hens and ponies and one of my neighbours knew that we had several ducklings. I did explain to Ali that I might not be able to part with any of the birds but that she was welcome to come and take a look. We discovered that we are both vegetarian and both soppy about animals and she told me how to bottle fruit. I am certainly going to try this as soon as the plums are ready and I might try to bottle some gooseberries. Thanks Ali.
