A few hours in London this morning allowed me to say another farewell to our American guests and to play with granddaughter and take her to the library.

Then it was home to let the ducks out of the run and into the garden for an afternoon escapade (Jeremy thinks that they will find and eat slugs and snails) although the three ducklings are too timid to come out.


And then it was time to tie net curtains over the cherry trees so that I, rather than the birds, might enjoy them when they ripen.
