The first outdoor lettuce, a red Roxy, was pulled today as were some enormous radishes and a bag of new red potatoes grown in the polytunnel. Plump red strawberries continue to ripen inside and, out in the garden, the strawberry plants are covered in flowers. The solitary red poppy that emerged from the many seeds that I planted last year, has self seeded and the drooping furry flower heads need a couple more days of sunshine before their blood red flowers emerge. It’s all about red today.
