A lonely time for Bov, the drake

Tish, the call duck, has finished laying a clutch of eggs.  There may be eight in the nest but we have tried not to disturb them so it’s difficult to know for sure.  Yesterday she began to sit, just popping outside for a quick dip in the bath and a frenzied feed.  She has done the same today. Poor old Bov is either on his own outside or sitting next to Tish in the duck house as she sits patiently on the eggs.  She is a first time mother so she might get fed up with the job in hand and decide to abandon this clutch.  We shall wait and see and count down the days.  Just 24 to go!

  1. I  have given up the idea of ever setting up a farm for our learning disabled youngsters – as in spite of many applications and discussions and letters I have come up with nothing.  I just need one philanthropist to help us but in the absence of a fairy godmother, I am giving up the project.  Perhaps my successor will be more successful in future years. I have enjoyed your emails and news but you can now remove our name from your email list.  Thank you anyway and best regards Zelda Landau
