Mum and I left The Gables at 5.40 in darkness and thick fog, arriving in London to a grey morning. By the time I returned home at 6 pm The Gables was bathed in evening sunshine and I admired the new rows of strawberries and onions that Jeremy had planted.
The faverolles, geese and hens were enjoying the last of the sun before “bedtime” and two buzzards circled over the field, disappearing into the distance as the owls began to call as the light faded. A wheelbarrow of potatoes waited to be sorted and stored in the summer house.
So good to be home.

Enjoying your blog Gillian -the true everyday story of country life, far more engaging than the Archers!
Hope to come and visit you sometime after Succot. Shana Tovah and all appropriate greetings to all the family.
What have you done to Jeremy?
