We visited a smallholding near Luton yesterday and purchased two apricot Call Ducks, one male and one female. We have called them Tish and Bov.
They quack beautifully and they are small,soft and exceptionally pretty. They slept well in the duck house but the chickens seemed a bit baffled by their presence this morning.


As I was sitting typing, Jeremy brought over a jar holding a small creature that had got trapped in the polytunnel and was sliding around on the muddy carpet flooring, unable to move. We are not sure if it is a baby field mouse or some other small mammal but we placed it in the marigold bed and hope that it will survive.
