I am reliably informed by my neighbour that the harvesting was of a field of oil seed rape and NOT winter barley. I can certainly smell the faintly cabbages smell of the crushed plants next door.
Apparently there are many more fields of rape than of winter barley hereabouts.
I stand corrected ( and a bit shame faced).
Dear Gill,
Thanks so much for keeping us urbanites abreast with developments in the realisation of your dream. It provides a most welcome antidote to the comparative monotony of London life.
I am attaching a most interesting letter I received today from the charity Yad Voezer. If you have a moment I would welcome your feedback.
With best wishes Dan Levy
