Country lunch with bagels and cream cheese from our visitor

We spent the morning reviewing plans for the barn, discussing barn owl conservation and wondering how long the restoration project would take. We can’t begin any work until the owlets have flown the nest and we will require a site visit from the Barn Owl Conservation Trust.  Thank goodness because I love our barn owl – it is one of the joys of living here to awaken to the sight of the snowy creature flying past our bedroom window or to sit on the terrace in the late afternoon and see the owl gliding over the field in search of prey.

When Wayne, the architect, had left our lovely visitor arrived for a lunch of Jeremy’s home grown salads complemented by her gift of bagels and cream cheese. Bon appetit!
