Today we celebrated the 65th wedding anniversary of my parents. Married at 21, having met at the seaside in Southend when they were 18, they are now 86 years old and have lived in London all their lives ( except when they were child evacuees during the war). They probably hadn’t expected to spend their wedding anniversary with friends and family as well as two cows and eight sheep, but everyone appreciated the wonderful cake iced and made by Joy as well as the moving backdrop of the animals. The sun shone and we had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you all for making the journey. Come again soon.

Our “house party” continued, when Joy, Karen and Harry came for dinner to us on Friday night and I hope they enjoyed it as much as we did!
The remainder of the fruit went to good homes, including Rachel taking some beautifully cut up to her friends Hen party yesterday.
Martin and I had a wonderful walk in Kenwood yesterday. I don’t think Martin had ever been before. I have, but we have not been together. We both loved it and couldn’t believe why we go further afield, but don’t enjoy the things right on our doorstep!
I hope you have time to relax and get back to normal life after your marathon bout of entertaining. You are pros!
