First step – plant trees seven years ago (thank you Joy, Hadassah and mum for longing for zwetchgen plums of yesteryear)
Then pick a bowl full and stone them and add to the tray of thick batter
Cook in the oven
Btw there’s a story about the plum trees – no time today but to be continued ……
These flowers (grown this year for the first time at The Gables by the head gardener as requested by the lady?of the house)
Have given us non stop pleasure. They have grown to huge heights and seem to flower when many other plants have died back.
They are called Cosmos and they are fabulous and the bees love them too
The grandchildren went home and it was then an afternoon of cooking and jam making
The final picking of paddock plums prepared and made into 6 x 1lb jars of jam
Time to sit down and have a tot of whisky!
