Proper autumn afternoon. Sun shining, wind blowing, rain threatening but never falling

In the veg garden the little tractor has earned it’s keep
Getting the ground ready for spring planting
I couldn’t bear to waste this free hedge row bounty
I picked enough rose hips to try and make some rose hip syrup. Full of vitamin C

Then the sky was darkening and it was time to put all the creatures to bed. Mother hen and babies were already snuggled up for the night

Good and bad …..

Another perfect purple aubergine from the polytunnel – good
More dumping of waste at the bottom of Mill Road en route to Chawston – bad, very bad
The black cat in the centre of the black cat roundabout along the A1 is “wearing its Remembrance Day Poppy with pride” – good

I don’t know who risks life and limb to get onto the roundabout island, braving the heavy traffic. Every season the cat wears appropriate apparel – always a Santa hat at Christmas time. It always amuses me when I am sat waiting for the traffic lights to turn green. Thanks to the anonymous cat dresser.

Got home to find that J is making a vegetable pie for dinner using garden veg. It will be topped with cheesy mash – very, very good!!!!!

As the sun sets on a fabulous day

I have to say that Camden Girls are the best!!!!!
Nigel tried to go home with some of them
And I said to one friend “Did you get those boots at primark. Mine are nearly identical”. Bless her, she laughed and said “mine are vivienne Westwood”
Probably cost more than a fiver !

When we reminisced about our exploits at school I’m amazed that not one of us was expelled. Those were the days, my friend !!
