Night visitors …….

For several weeks, since the onset of cold and frosty days and nights, we have found lots of evidence of digging around the vegetable garden. We put out a night camera and occasionally saw odd shadowy shapes when we looked through the grainy photos but nothing conclusive

Holes like this all around the vegetable garden

Dr Google and friend Kate suggested either badgers or even hungry foxes could be digging for worms during the cold snap

It’s badgers – caught on film

Cats keeping warm by the fire

Outside the twins and mum are in the barn. We had to milk off one side of Perky’s udder as it was too full to allow the little boy to feed. We put the creamy colostrum in a lamb bottle and the hungry little fellow drank away. The pushy girl doesn’t seem to have any trouble feeding! More reports tomorrow

A moment of pride as I begin the weekend cooking (read to the end)

Frying onions and spices and chilli for the lentil dhal
Watching (through the kitchen window) as the jackdaws fight for nesting sites in the ash tree by the gate

I stopped for a coffee and to do a “wordle” knowing that my opponent (and partner) had completed his in two lines after midnight last night. Yes we are rather competitive with each other! Please look away if you haven’t done your wordle yet today.

I think it’s all about the first word. My opponent said, this morning, that was rubbish until I took him in my iPhone just now and interrupted his work. Crazy!
