My first “solo“ delivery

Born to Surprise early this morning. Surorise is a small ewe and a first time mother

When I was feeding PJ snd Sonyo this morning I heard a strange noise coming from the other side of the barn. After they had finished their bottles I went to find out what was making the noise. Surprise was sitting in the straw and making howling grunts. A little head was protruding from her backside. I pulled Surprise up into standing snd managed to pull the head and legs and told her to “push”. The lamb slithered out snd I imagined it was lifeless but I immediately cleared the mucus from her nose and mouth and I detected a slight movement. I rubbed her with straw over her face and body snd put her in front of the sitting Surprise and the mother begin to lick her lamb. Then a glorious sound – the lamb made a cry snd wriggled! I have left mum and baby in the barn as mum continues to lick the lamb. The last time I checked the lamb was moving snd almost trying to stand. Amazing. Click below

Exploring the villages of North East Bedfordshire

Another Sunday, another outing. This time to the village of Yielden/Yelden where we walked around the remains of the Norman Castle- large mounds covered with grass

Then further on we visited the Church and a war grave

Just 20 years old, Private Robinson of The Norfolk Regiment died at the end of the First World War
Inside the church a plaque to commemorate a terrible World War Two accident and below those on the ground who were killed by the crash
Yelden was in close proximity to USAAF base at Chelveston
