What to have at teatime on a hot day

A few words about the sniffy attitude of the Church Times and home to make ice lollies with our garden blackcurrants.

A well deserved three month sabbatical. He wanted to write a review of Jews Milk Goats for the weekly Church Times but they gave him (and me) the brush off. Whereas the Catholic weekly, The Tablet, were delighted to review. Hmmm. We had a short Wednesday walk because of the heat

And then I went home to try my hand at making ice lollies using a newly bought silicone mold.

I couldn’t manage in a really hot climate and nor could the cats

After the “garden visitors” had gone we revived ourselves with a cuppa and a few minutes with our feet up then it was back to business. We moved the 18 Call Ducks back to their pond. The pond had dried up in the heat and several of the ducks got “stuck in the mud!”.

Then we moved Mrs Silkie and the 3 week old goslings to the now vacant duck run

And we moved the 6-day old goslings and Mrs Maran to the goose run

All are settled and enjoying the space and the sunshine
I wonder what today will bring? It’s rhyme time at the library, blackcurrant picking and jam making but what else?
