What a day and night of contrasts

Yesterday we read and dozed outside in warm sunshine. In the evening lightning and thunder rent the sky and torrential rain poured down all night.

The sheep (who have a barn available for shelter) chose to stay out in the field
The squirrels continue to raid the walnut trees all day long come rain or shine

Come and get them!

We were delighted that our three huge pumpkins, some large marrows and cucumbers were collected this morning.

They will be used to decorate the village church for the harvest lunch this Sunday. There is a talented pumpkin carver in the village. Here are two examples below
