They are quite discerning and don’t eat food or hay dropped on the ground. This afternoon I gave them cut up apples and cucumber. I wasn’t sure about the cucumber but they ate it with pleasure

Tomorrow the four young geese will be moving home.

Today I begin my autumn and winter walks across the fields and along the footpaths.
The sky mirrors my mood – low hanging clouds with glimpses of blue sky and sun. Never lose hope.
