Houston we have a problem!

Badgers trying to get into the Silkie run, the duck run, opening feed bins and overturning the goose bucket.

It seems to be war everywhere around the world – and in the animal kingdom too.

We have just been outside to move the sitting hens to a more secure location.

We hope they will go back on their eggs.

Neither the UN nor Trump nor the EU have been involved in any of our plans and negotiations with the badgers!

A May bank holiday nature walk or two

Where we came across two groups of twitchers. They were recording and hoping to photograph the nightingales, of which 24 breeding pairs live on the reserve

We heard and recorded some on my app as well as chiff chaff’s and warblers, chaffinchs, robins, blackbirds and wrens. All along the way we heard cuckoos Listen below

Then on the way home we stopped in Swineshead to visit the bluebell wood
