Well this evening daughter reminded me that on this day 8 years ago she and her husband stopped at The Gables to leave us a precious parcel, their son – our first grandchild. They were on their way to a wedding in Liverpool. Somebody (no one has yet confessed) in all the excitement left a gate open. Our clever cows (who we sold during the pandemic) made a run for the garden and started munching on the vegetables

We then had to work hard and quickly to return them to the field before they ate all our crops

Then we had the task of catching some lambs who were being sold to a farmer the next day.

Simple but effective
