The annual u3a hikers group Gables fest
The walking group is coming here today
I’m hoping they will take these home
So many apples and plums
Breakfast time down at the pond
When everyone had gone
And some greengage picking and pickling
Friends leave and lunch guests arrive.
Which we try to do each summer. They have gone home with plums and beans and cooking apples and Tromboncinos and honey.
