Suddenly it’s all about pickling (and butterflies)

A glut of courgettes yesterday so why not make a sort of piccalilli with courgettes and shallots?

And as the cherry tomatoes ripen outside and in the greenhouse….
A sweet and sour jar of picked tomatoes
Greengages picked this morning, washed and scored
Packed into a kilner jar and rough salt added
Topped with boiled water and then (as with the tomatoes) into the fridge for a week. I wonder if I’ll like the taste?
Outside Large White butterflies (aka cabbage whites) flit from flower to flower
