One thought on “What an adventure in the late afternoon”
Apparently three balloons launched from their normal place in Risely. First one only made it to the far side of Thurleigh. Phil, in Colesden, phoned to say he had spotted two balloons coming my way so I went out to look. One just made it over the road to their normal landing spot on the GolfCourse.
Third one landed very neatly on the grass strip between the two parts of the bean field in front of me, with easy vehicular access down the footpath track. One of the retrieving chaps asked who the field belonged to so they could get permission to drive down and get it. Betty was not at home so I gave him John Lammyâs number (John is Bettyâs son in law who does the farming on her land now) and permission was of course granted. Very quick retrieval of basket, balloon and two pilots and all drove off before it got dark.
Love to see them coming over but very few seen this year as the weather conditions have not been favourable.
