A splendid walk on a sunny morning in the historic town of Kimbolton

We met at the mediaeval St Andrews Church. Inside is a stained glass window by American glass artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of the founder of Tiffany’s jewellers in New York, made in 1901

Then we set off out of the town, along footpaths and muddy fields. We spotted several skylarks singing as they ascended into the sky and disappeared out of sight. I missed the yellow hammer but two other walkers saw it in the hedge

I led the group in a rough rendition of “oh what a beautiful morning” – it really was a glorious morning and we were happy to sing about it!
