A few weeks ago a woman called in to The Gables to ask if we could rehome two pet billy goats called Stanley and Billy. Their owner was a terminally ill farmer who wanted to be assured that his pets would have a good “forever” home. I sent out WhatsApp messages and put the plea onto our Colmworth email group and…..

A wonderful, local friend sent the photos and request to all her contacts. Lo and behold a connection of one of her friends has taken the goats to a farm near Buckden where they have a newly fenced paddock and a newly built goat shed and a forever home. The power of social media as a force for good! Thank you.
