Yesterday, when I couldn’t take photographs, I was transfixed by a green woodpecker in the paddock

Maybe it will visit again. Today it’s goldfinches – who we used to see often but rarely see these days

The bees, below, have been moved to a new site away from the vegetable garden.
J says the bees come out for “cleaning flights” during the winter. The metal strip over the opening is a mouse guard to prevent rodents entering the warm hive during the cold months
