Not everything in the garden is rosy

The lawn looks like sand
The raspberries have shrivelled in the heat
These plums are wrinkled and inedible
Some of the Conference pears have hard, leathery skins

I count my blessings that we harvested most of the soft fruit before the drought and heat began. We will undoubtedly lose some trees and plants.

The sheep are desperate for grass – there is hardly any to graze. We put out hay for them to increase their nutrition

  1. Yuk. Sad to see everything so dry. We’re used to it here of course and at least we have air-conditioning in most places. Hope you get some rain soon.
