Those of us of a certain age will appreciate the references and links below. The others might appreciate the river, the mill and the egret we saw on our walk this morning

In Biggleswade town centre we passed the birthplace and childhood home of Charles Penrose.

He was a musical hall star and recorded the wonderful “laughing policeman song” that could be heard in the Children’s Favourites radio show every week. It never failed to make me laugh.

Further on, along the river, we saw a mallard drake guarding his duck partner nesting in the tall grass

And then an egret near Jordan Mill (where we had parked)
What a great place for a coffee
