There are 12 species of bats in this country and Vampire bats are NOT one of these (pheww!). Bats are NOT blind – they see very well thank you. And, finally, what mum told me and others believe – bats do NOT get tangled in your hair. Notwithstanding all this I don’t find them pretty creatures and whilst Bob gave his talk a few bats flew around the church – I kid you not.

We had one in our home a few years ago, and while they are endangered and protected, I was forced to do hand-to- hand combat with one. Not fun. we then spent thousands of dollars bat-proofing our house . Imluved in fear of having caught rabies, but I escaped unharmed.
