5.15 and nearly dark. Night comes early once the clocks go back
The grandchildren left early to go Trick or Treating – an imported American nonsense that I deplore. I was mean and wouldn’t let my children join in with the, then, newly imported fad. Sadly it wasn’t a passing fad!
I am shocked that trick-or- treating is such recent inport into England. What’s worse to me is the night before Halloween which is called Mischief Night here. Kids here do really nasty things like egging a house. It does damage to the paint on the houses which can’t be easily rectified. Dentists here love trick-or-treating.
Henry is doing it here…I’m not keen either!
