Late yesterday afternoon the youth group leaders undertook a team building challenge set by Jeremy (in fairness they had asked him to find a task to do together).

The task was to bring it to the bank, turn it over on the grass (and then leave it to dry before J repairs it). As expected they were equal to the task

It would have been impossible to complete the task just by pulling on ropes as the roof had become embedded in the silt below

Large amounts of water came out of the borrowed wellies (ours of course) and I felt obliged to wash the filthy clothes of the three who went into the pond. What a great group of young people.

In addition to their enthusiasm and ingenuity they are also eco conscious, eat only vegetarian or vegan food and are composting and recycling all they can. They give me hope for a better world.
I have found similar support from the young in protecting the Green Belt. Even if planners like to write us off as silver-haired nimbys.
