And still we “zoom”

A fascinating presentation by Dr Dean Irwin on Women and the money lending records of mediaval Anglo-Jewry

There are extensive records and pipe rolls which not only illuminate the subject of Jewish mediaval money lending

But also throw light generally on mediaeval life in England – a subject about which I am reading both non fiction and now historical novels by the late Sharon Penman (thanks to a recommendation by Phil).

Many of the contemporary English mediaval scholars are women and Dr Irwin concentrated on their work, papers and books. Good on him!

I would never have attended even one historical talk if I had needed to travel. Because of zoom I have listened in to several fascinating and diverse topics all from the comfort of my armchair, coffee in one hand and Mabel on my lap. Purrfect.
