And even covered the childrens’ playground

I asked an “old boy” in the car park (yes, I know to youngsters that I might be called an “old girl!) if he had ever seen the river this flooded. He had not. Time for some drying up weather please.

and more rain due this week most of the villagers local the the river are badly flooded aswell 😦
This riverside park is designated flood plain, so the excess water is doing what it should, Gillian, and the levels are well controlled by the Water Board. It is held back there safely and can spread out without doing much harm and will soak away into the river when the flow decreases in a few days time. Hopefully the local housing will not be affected, although by building so many new houses all along the Ouse has certainly increased the run off from all the extra driveways, roads etc where there just used to be fields!
