The town was busy. The car parks have waived all charges but many shops have closed. Some closed before the lockdown, some were scheduled to close and for some it was the last straw. The river is beautiful as is the view from the bridge.

A few of we U3A walkers sat outside the cafe in the Riverside Park. The agenda was to decide when and where and how to restart our fortnightly walks. Some might not return to the group because of age or infirmity but there’s a core group who are “up for it”. We hope to set off on the first walk in two weeks time starting at and finishing with refreshments at The Gables. Hooray!
