The fruit flies drive me crazy. Congregating in the kitchen and on the windows

I don’t like using toxic sprays so googled a solution. It involves a glass or dish partially filled with apple cider vinegar, covered with cling film and secured with a rubber band. Puncture holes in the film big enough for the fruit flies to enter but NOT to leave! It seems to be working.
