Apologies (or maybe NOT) for the polemic which follows

For 45 years I have been asked, “why are you a vegetarian?” and only now – probably far too late to save this beautiful, wonderful world on which we are privileged to live, are people understanding the reason. If we care at all about animals, about the future of our own selfish species then watch the documentary that aired last night on BBC 1

“Meat:A Threat to our Planet?”

Contrast this factory farming of sentient creatures with what we see at small holdings like The Gables. We know and see that even a chicken has a personality and needs space in which to roam and scratch and roost. How can meat eaters mindlessly buy factory farmed product without a care for the welfare of the animal or the planet? I am fed up with the question, “Why are you a vegetarian?” I guess it should now be, “Why aren’t you a vegan?” Let’s discuss it round a table of organically grown Gables food some day soon. But it might well be too late.
