Then on to Kimbolton Castle where Henry VIII’s first wife, Queen Katherine of Aragon, died in 1536.

Katherine had formerly been imprisoned at The Palace of Buckden just a few miles away. Kimbolton Castle and its extensive grounds now houses Kimbolton School. Apparently I could pay £5 for a guided tour of the castle – afternoons only from May to November. Maybe next year. I might even see Katherine’s ghost who is said to haunt the place if her death!
