On Remembrance Sunday

We stand in the Colmworth Country Park and remember all those who died in wars past and present

My grandfather survived the Battle of the Somme. His wife, my grandma Kate, had (before grandpa Sam came into her life) met a young boy from New Zealand. They met at a dance in London on his way to fight in France. He sent her embroidered postcards from “somewhere in France”

He never returned and Kate married Sam and I am here today to remember- with others from this village. Tears for the fallen especially that young lad from New Zealand.
