CORRECTION……..and apologies and a recipe.

My friend, neighbour and all round countrywoman, Kate, has pointed out that the earlier photo and video featured a RED ADMIRAL butterfly and NOT a Painted Lady, I stand corrected. But do,look out for an invasion of painted ladies.

The cakes below are for real and were made with windfall Bramleys this morning.

For those who will ask later, two eggs mixed with 250 ml sunflower oil. 250 gm golden caster sugar mixed into oil and eggs with a pinch of salt. 300 gms self raising flour (recipe says 275 of plain flour plus baking powder) and lots of finely chopped up and peeled Bramleys (the recipe says 500 gms). Cook at 180 degrees for 40 minutes or until it seems cooked. I used two small loaf tins lined with baking parchment.
