At last the geese are getting the hang of our plan.

I was down at the goose pond (defensive stick at the ready for my own protection). The geese were swimming.

As I came back from carting some wood down to the bonfire corner of the field, I left the “goose gate” open. For ages we had been trying to persuade the geese to walk through that gate and into the lush perimeter strip of “set aside” pasture around the perimeter of the field. They didn’t like the idea and refused to budge. But this afternoon they followed me into the long grass and began to graze on the tall vegetation. Well done.
