One day, during the winter, when I was making lentil dhal, I asked Jeremy if we could grow lentils in our garden. He was doubtful but the very next week a letter arrived with his Garden Organics magazine asking for volunteers to take part in an experiment to grow lentils in organic gardens. We signed up straight away and received a package with two types of lentils and some paperwork detailing the plot required, measurements of rows and paperwork on which to record our planting dates and yields. The first lentils were sown in the middle of May and the second batch are due to be sown on Thursday. The first rows are showing but will they flower and yield lentils? The experiment continues.

The cats are showing a vague interest in an important premiership match, this afternoon, between Chelsea (my team) and Man Utd (Jeremys).
