She sat on a clutch of duck eggs but after five weeks none had hatched. Then she sat on one hen egg for a further three weeks and this morning I opened the hen house and saw a little chick. I moved mother and chick to the Nursery Ark away from the cockerel and other big birds who might harm the baby. Well done mum.
