A sunny afternoon, perfect for planting out shallots and garlic. We used some of the crop that we harvested in July.

And we covered the shallots with the pickle jars that we saved from several years of pickle eating. The jars will stop the birds from disturbing the bulbs until they have established themselves in the soil.
