Real champions

The Bedfordshire Champion onions, grown from seed, have produced enormous bulbs weighing in at a pound each or more.

While Jeremy was pulling up the Champions I was making up the beds for our expected guests. Nigel was going to help but then decided he couldn’t be bothered!

This morning, having watched the Netflix documentary “The Magic Pill”, I made two “loaves of ketogenic bread. It didn’t rise as much as I had hoped and it is very rich and moist. Hardly surprising because it contains five eggs, a cup of coconut oil and a cup of macadamia nut paste, also lemon juice, baking powder and salt. Any ideas for getting it to rise more? Maybe more beating and therefore more aeration?
