An Awfully Big Adventure

We were sitting in bed with our iPads at 6 am reading the newspapers (and the shambles and shame of the Pakistani elections) when there was a loud thumping on the door.

Jeremy opened the landing window and a voice asked if we had a couple of cows? If so they were in the adjacent field where the farmer has just finished combining.

Up we got, pulled on our clothes, grabbed an iPhone (me) and two buckets full of cow concentrates. Then it was off across our field to the hedge on the far side and into the next door field where (around the corner) we spied two naughty cows.

To mix my metaphors, the Cows looked a little Sheepish! Slaves to their stomachs, they trotted towards us and the food buckets.

And followed Jeremy back through the gap in the hedge, around the perimeter and into the main field.

They are now in the barn for a short period of incarceration and a good feed of hay!

  1. A rude awakening – trust cows will be kept in the naughty corner until they have learnt how to behave! Kitchen worktops going on today – hopefully new kitchen might be fininshed by end of next week and then will be in a position to come and visit The Gables.
