Of the four baby chicks two have feathery feet and two do not.

The feathers and their size (small) show that they are Bantam hens – my favourite chooks. Bantams come and eat from the hand and make wonderful sitters. It was a Bantie who sat on the goose eggs and is now “bringing up” two giant sized goslings.
Of the adolescent hens, hatched about three months ago, two are boys and two are girls. One cockerel is a caricature specimen with a red comb and a yellow beak.
