Three years ago we had blue tits nesting in the Victorian letter box. Then we had the wall of the annex painted and the decorators opened the letter box and removed the nest (we only realised after the event). Since then there have been no signs of nesting until this morning when Jeremy noticed a small bird flying in and out of the opening.

The new, short term tenant is a robin. Welcome robin family, stay as long as you wish and do come back next year.
