Our friend and neighbour called in to say hello in the late afternoon. Jeremy gave her a pot of basil as a “going home” present.

I walked back to see the newborn calf at Kate’s. What a gorgeous and sturdy little animal.

After admiring the calf we looked into the stable block where there is a nest of swallows and into another stall where a feral cat, that Kate has rehomed, has just given birth to a litter of four kittens. The feral cat was, supposedly, spayed!
