







Luckily I was driven there by another friend (my sense of direction is not my strongest suit). We spent a pleasant couple of hours chatting, drinking coffee and eating Walkers shortbread biscuits. The dog stayed still.

And I persuaded them to take some rhubarb too although it scarcely made a dent in the supply of stems.

They only live and lay their eggs on lilies and other fritillaries and they also eat holes in the leaves. I only noticed them yesterday and had never seen them before. Pretty but destructive.





Strangely the lambs don’t seem to recognise their mums after they are shorn. They will eventually
