Photographs sent from the East End of London just now

By my sister in law and brother who are standing outside Dunstan Houses where my father lived until he and my mother married. They were then East End slums without bathrooms and many immigrants lived in these tenements and hoped, one day, to leave them for more salubrious surroundings.

Now these have been turned into luxury flats and the old East End is a sought after and expensive London location. Brother and sis in law are in the area to attend the East End Film Festival where they will watch a documentary film called The Outsider about the Taiwanese shipping maverick Nobu Su.

Our son spent interesting times with Mr Su and is featured throughout the documentary explaining the battle that Mr Su had with RBS bank. A fascinating film about a larger than life character with an extraordinary wardrobe. See it if you can.
