As I finished opening up the animal houses I heard a knocking noise which sounded ghostly in the early morning mist. I walked towards the sound. Could it be an intruder in one of the barn bedrooms? No. A pair of jackdaws have taken residence in one of the owl boxes and are making a nest inside.. noisily!

The other box, on the side of the stable block, is home to a pair of stock doves.
